Thinking a lot about where to place the plotter recently. When sailing shorthanded I would very much like to have a chartplotter in the cockpit, and not have to go down below. However, since there is no pedestal, finding a good spot for the plotter is evidently not so easy.

Minor glitch in the production process...
...but it was sorted quite well so now we are talking about hull #18 instead of 19. Nice.

After careful considerations and comparisons with other boats GKSS have decided to buy three Elan 310s for their training programmes. Cool!

ASOP for 310
After discussing with Fjord Sail, North Sails and Rob Humphreys it looks like the ASOP concept is the way to go for hull #19. Cool!
Basically, this means sailing an assymmetric spinnaker on an overlength pole so it is possible to get the spinnaker a bit further to windward and thus increasing both stability and going lower TWA.
This also means that the bowsprit will be used for cruising, and we are attempting to get sails sewn so that they can be used on either (overlength pole for regatta, sprit for cruising).
Exciting!
